Triathlon: What I learned from Training, Competing and Treating Athletes

After treating literally hundreds and hundreds of triathletes, several hundred IM finishers, I decided to take the plunge and up the distance to the IM 70.3 at IM 70.3 Timberman. Here and in other short articles I will share some of the tips I learned along the way, starting off with the importance of having a proper Bike fit. Get a Proper Bike Fit I just can’t say enough about the importance of preventing neck and lower back pain with a proper fit. Improper fit will not only decrease your power output and performance on the bike, it can lead to neck pain, shoulder and wrist pain, back pain, knee pain and hip pain. Improper bike fit can place too much stress on the knees, neck and shoulders. Poor positioning can cause you to use the wrong muscles, leaving your legs tired and hip flexoors tight which can effect your run coming off the bike.
